Witch Hunt
Undead Eraser level

This is the first and only level of Undead Eraser (not counting the arenas).

There are 4 different weak enemies and a boss-fight.

This an introduction level designed to show all the mechanics of the game
Level flow chart

Layout
1.
The level starts with a small path that shows the player how to move. A tutorial panel show the controls.
The walls force the player to move forward until the stairs are founded, path enlighten with an oil lamp.
Once the stairs are crossed, there's a first melee enemy. Another panel show the basic attack and roll controls.

First enemy encounter

After the first combat, the path will be enlighten with another oil lamp.

The houses act as a hallway directing the player to the next combat.

Two more lights reinforce this.

Here there's another encounter, this time showing the player how to deal with two melee enemies at once.

A panel show how to do a heavy attack and how to lock the camera in one enemy.
​
Once the player defeats the enemies, the door opens.


4.
A new kind of enemy is introduced: a ranged enemy. The height difference puts the player in a vulnerable situation.
​
A tutorial shows how to throw a fireball to it.
​
After defeating the enemy the first bonfire is introduced, it is placed in a position that makes it unavoidable for the player.
5.
Now, the player already knows all the mechanics, so here it is the first challenge with a more complex combat: a range enemy throw bombs to the player, while 2 melee ones awaits for an ambush.

The path narrows halfway to force the player to confront the enemies.

Ambush

6.
This time, two ranged enemies. guard a door that won't open until they are defeated. There's again height difference to put the player in a vulnerable situation.

The oil lamps reinforce the player's path.
​
There's an open view to see the next encounter.
7.
Here there is a small rest zone.
​
The player is provided with a bonfire before the next encounter.
​
The column and the rounded wall makes the player know that the path continues to the right.


Ambush
Mini-boss
8.
This is the hardest battle before the boss fight. First, the player see 3 melee enemies, one of them is a mini-boss. Behind them, there is a ranged one.

Add to that, once the player steps on the area, a melee one will ambush.
​
After defeating all of them, the door opens.
9.
This is a last safe zone. The calm before the storm.
​
There's a bonfire to have a checkpoint before the boss-fight behind the fog.


Boss
10.
Now is the turn for the boss fight.
​
It is a simple square fight zone.
​
There are four platforms. In the floating fase of the boss, she will approach some of them. That's when the player can take the opportunity to attack her from a platform.
​
Once the boss is defeated, the level will finish, returning the player to the main menu.
Enviromental art
Although I'm not an artist, I didn't want to leave the map in blocking, so I downloaded a free asset package form the Unreal Marketplace and I did my best placing them.
